Itinerary
The itinerary continues leaving the village of Juzet d’Izaut along the Chemin de la Pale, that goes out from the south-west of the village through meadows and cultivations and then follows the hillside of the wooded valley of the Job, in the state forest of Gar-Cagire. You then follow the track that crosses the beech forest, bypassing the entire western slope of the Pic de Cagire. The route follows on a more marked path and, further on, the Cabane d’Arguenos (m 1210) offers a shelter, a table and a fireplace to get warm. You keep on rising to the Col de Caube (m 1335) where there is a lovely view on the main Pyrenean crest. You then go down a steep track used to go across the wood, with some unclear stretches among the forest roads; the west is anyhow to be kept until the fountain of Argelès, where a sign reads that whoever drinks that water will live for one hundred years. The walk follows the forest track on the right mountain side of the valley until Bezins-Garraux. The walk proceeds on asphalted road (D 44f) with some cuts on the hairpin bends until Eup. At the end of the village you take the road on the left, heading southbound among the fields. A bit further on the route goes around and crosses a big pit and a mill for the production of gravel. After the plant, the itinerary follows the N 125 along the Garonne valley bottom for a short while before entering St-Béat.
