Itinerary
The Avenue Jean Jaurès leads out of St-Cécile-les Vignes, following then the D 976 heading south. The carriage way is left after a short while, turning right towards the west to reach the small village of Lagarde-Paréol through secondary roads. You now ascend along a dirt road crossing the Massif d’Uchaux, which is partly covered by woods and vineyards. Then the descent is rapid and passes nearby the houses of Les Farjond to carry on across vineyards, country roads and secondary asphalted roads to reach Mondragon, a town which was a feud of the Dragonnet, from whom its name derives. The GR4 passes the Canal de Donzère and it crosses the intensely cultivated countryside up to the D 994 leading to the monumental bridge on the Rhone (XIII cent.) and to Pont-St-Esprit.
